Disegno is proud to announce that we have partnered with &Tradition during this year’s 3 Days of Design festival in Copenhagen. From 18-20 June, we will curate and moderate a series of public talks tackling ideas of print media, reference, legacy and inspiration, with designers such as Industrial Facility, All the Way to Paris, Jaime Hayon and more.
To coincide with &Tradition’s presentation of The Living Archive – a curated display of work focused across the brand’s showroom, the Lille Petra café, and the newly renovated Petra Hotel – Disegno’s editor-in-chief Oli Stratford will be joined in conversation by a series of designers from &Tradition’s community. Inspired by Industrial Facility’s new Rombe shelving system for the brand, The Living Archive plays upon ideas of libraries and quiet spaces, and the Disegno talks will also pick up on these themes.
Sam Hecht and Kim Colin of Industrial Facility will share the importance of analogue materials, books and research to their practice, while Tanja Vibe and Petra Olsson Gendt of All the Way to Paris will reflect on the manner in which their work has grown from graphic design to now encompass textiles and products.
Signe Bindslev Henriksen of Space Copenhagen and Malene Hvidt of Spacon & X will explore their personal relationship to Denmark’s design tradition, with a special introduction to the talk given by Carin Panton, daughter of Verner Panton. Meanwhile, Luca Nichetto and Jaime Hayon will join an evening discussion at the Petra Hotel, designed by Kay Fisker and newly outfitted with &Tradition designs, to discuss their own influences in the field and the importance of other designers’ work to their practice.
