The Crit #14: Suitably Woolly

October thrills and chills! A new episode of The Crit is here for spooky season, offering discussion and analysis of some of the latest news from across the design world.

The episode sees our hosts explore whether the Wold Fair format of the belated Expo 2020 in Dubai remains relevant; enjoy a screening of The Simpsons’s catwalk collaboration with Balenciaga; and look into a new sneaker partnership between Reebok and the Eames Office. It also includes discussion of Stefan Diez’s Ayno lamp for Midgard; Invisible Studio, Ellis Williams Architects and Onion Collective’s East Quay development for Wachet; and Oskar Stålberg’s Townscaper game.

This episode also includes an extended interview with Kaat Debo, director of Antwerp’s MoMu fashion museum. Kaat calls in to talk about the museum’s recent reopening after a three-year renovation; the challenges of exhibiting fashion; and the need for museums to reach wider, more diverse audiences.
